A doorbell camera watches a year of one courtship, beginning with a nervous first pickup and a father’s eleven o’clock curfew. But a broke twenty-four-year-old arrives with less to say each time, and eventually the girl he’s courting steps out onto the porch, shuts the door behind her, and tells him to say it or be done.
